3.3 ONLINE AND BLENDED LEARNING
Candidates develop, model, and facilitate the use of online and blended learning, digital content, and learning networks to support and extend student learning and expand opportunities and choices for professional learning for teachers and administrators.
This artifact is a screenshot of my class' current eClass page. This is the site that all of Gwinnett County uses for their teacher's websites. I worked with my my school's local technology school coordinator (LTSC) to learn how to create my class' eClass. After having a session with her I designed my page and decided what to include on it.

This artifact demonstrates mastery of standard 3.3: candidates develop, model, and facilitate the use of online and blended learning, digital content, and learning networks to support and extend student learning and expand opportunities and choices for professional learning for teachers and administrators. I use my eClass page to connect with parents, and keep them informed about what is going on in class. I also put videos and websites that students can access from home to extend their learning experiences. The students also have access to homework and study guides on this page. This page is also where my online lessons will be posted in the even the school is closed due to inclement weather. This enables the students to not miss a day of learning even if the school has to be closed for a day. I access the school's eClass page regularly to stay informed about upcoming events, and staff news. We have a weekly staff newsletter that is posted on this page. This newsletter keeps us informed of many things, including upcoming professional learning opportunities.

By using this blended learning platform I have learned how effective and easy blended and online learning can be. The eClass site is very user friendly, and makes it very easy for me to enable my students to participate in online learning activities while at home. One thing I would like to add to improve this artifact is I would like to add a discussion component to my eClass. Some of my colleagues have this on their page, so I know it's possible, but I haven't taken advantage of it yet. I would like to in the near future.

This site definitely has an impact on student learning. The use of this platform enables students to engage in teacher picked learning activities at home to reinforce what we are working on in class. I believe this will have a significant impact on student learning, if the students use it regularly. At the end of the school year I will ask the parents and students to complete a survey regarding how much the students used eClass at home to determine the impact.
